If you’ve spent any time around events in Dubai, you’ve heard the stories. Makeup sliding before the ceremony even starts. Guests fanning themselves through a black-tie dinner. An outdoor setup ruined by wind and sand halfway through service.
Dubai is an incredible place to host events, but timing matters more here than most cities. The weather changes everything. Pick the wrong month and you’ll spend the whole night managing discomfort. Pick the right one and the event almost runs itself.
We plan events year-round at Sona Vista Events, so we pay close attention to what actually works. Humidity, heat, traffic, hotel pricing. All of it follows a pattern. Here’s how the year breaks down in real terms.

October to April: The Outdoor-Friendly Months
These months give you the most flexibility. They also come with higher demand and higher prices.
October and November
This is when Dubai starts to feel pleasant again. Evenings cool down, usually sitting somewhere in the low to mid-20s. Outdoor dinners become realistic. Guests stop checking their phones for the weather.
Venues know this is the start of the season, so prices jump quickly. Good dates disappear early. If you want October or November, plan well ahead.
These months work well for beach weddings, rooftop events, and outdoor brand launches that rely on guest movement and mingling.
December and January
Temperatures drop further. Some evenings feel cold, especially near the water. Outdoor dinners may need heaters, particularly later at night.
Hotel rates peak during this time. New Year’s Eve alone can distort pricing for weeks. Availability also tightens because of tourism.
Daytime events shine here. Garden parties, golf days, and corporate gatherings work well when the sun is up and the air stays crisp.
February and March
This is the most reliable weather window of the year. Days stay comfortable. Evenings feel balanced. Outdoor setups hold up well.
It’s also a busy period for the city. Large exhibitions and conferences fill hotels and clog roads. Traffic planning matters more than usual.
If your event depends on weather and logistics going smoothly, these months give you the best odds.
May and September: The In-Between Months
These months sit on the edge of comfort. They can work, but only with planning.
May
Heat starts to build. Daytime outdoor events struggle. After sunset, things improve, but only with fans, shade, and plenty of cold drinks.
The upside is pricing. Venues begin to negotiate. You’ll often get better packages than in peak season.
Late-night pool events or lounges can work. Full outdoor dinners are risky.
September
Temperatures start to drop, but humidity lingers. The air can feel heavy, especially early in the month.
Venues push hard to fill calendars again, so deals appear. You can secure strong rates if you stay flexible.
Indoor venues work best here. Outdoor terraces are fine for short breaks, but long seated dinners outside are still a gamble.
June to August: Indoor Only
Summer in Dubai is intense. Outdoor events aren’t just uncomfortable. They’re unsafe.
Daytime temperatures climb well past 40°C. Even at night, heat lingers. This is not the season to experiment.
That said, this is when indoor venues become far more affordable. Luxury hotels drop ballroom rates significantly compared to winter. I can’t give an exact percentage for every venue, but the difference is noticeable.
If you focus on interiors, summer can work in your favor. We often transform ballrooms with greenery, lighter lighting, and layout changes so the space feels cooler and less formal. Guests stay comfortable. Budgets stretch further.
A Note on Ramadan
Ramadan moves earlier each year, so always check the calendar.
During daylight hours, music and alcohol are restricted. Evening rules vary by permit and venue.
This period works well for corporate Iftars and Suhoor gatherings. The focus shifts to food, hospitality, and conversation rather than entertainment.
So, When Should You Book?
If you want an outdoor wedding or a fully open-air event, November and February are your safest bets.
If you want a high-end venue without peak-season pricing, summer months offer value, as long as you stay indoors.
No month is perfect. Every season comes with trade-offs. The key is planning around them instead of fighting them.
If your date is flexible, we usually check weather patterns and venue pricing side by side before locking anything in. That one step saves a lot of stress later.
If you want help thinking it through, we’re happy to walk you through the options and be honest about what works and what doesn’t.
